Ahart Hackett, Jr.

September 24, 1946 — January 23, 2011

Metter - Ahart Bruce Hackett, Jr., 64 died January 23, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in
Decatur, Georgia.

He was born in Washington, D.C. and shortly after his family moved to Florida where they lived in Sarasota County, Palm Bay and Melbourne. He was drafted during the Vietnam war and spent two years in Germany. Upon his return he made his home in Florida.

A Bricklayer by trade, he built hundreds of beautiful structures, fireplaces and also helped lay miles of concrete foundation. His hard work was cut short by a ladder fall in 1986 which forced him into early retirement. He loved hunting, fishing and after years of traveling to hunt the Georgia white tail he decided to make his home where they were so he moved to Metter, Georgia in 1996. When he was not hunting he was in the front of the television enjoying Discovery, History and Nature channels and it seemed as if he had watched most all movies. He was very close to his family and was blessed to have many friends. He was a great Comedian and would give you the shirt off his back if anyone was in need. He was loved by so many. We love you and will miss you dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ahart Bruce and Anna Louise Miller Hackett,
Sisters; Judy Holstein and Janice McKinney. He is survived by three children; Tiffney Hackett, Tina Sofran-Carson (Michael Carson) and Trisha (Jason)Beasley. Four
Grandchildren; Tianna Sofran, Teea Hackett, Tyla Beasley, Trinity Carson. Brother-in-law Carl McKinney.

Memorial gathering to be held in Melbourne, Florida at a later date.
