Alice Jeanette Cowart, entered her Heavenly home on July 15, 2026, surrounded by her family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born on July 3, 1947, in Plant City, Florida, to JD and Alice Pope Mathers.

Alice’s life was one of quiet strength, enduring devotion, and unwavering love for those closest to her. Throughout her professional life, Alice brought dedication and diligence to her work at Douglas Screen Printers. Her contributions in her career were marked not just by hard work and skill, but by the kindness and camaraderie she showed to everyone she met.

Beyond her work, Alice’s world revolved around her family—a source of deepest pride and enduring joy. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, finding happiness and fulfillment in their togetherness. Whether gathering for celebrations or simply enjoying each other’s company, Alice’s gentle spirit established a legacy of warmth and unity. She especially enjoyed going on cruises, delighting in the opportunity to explore new destinations while making lasting memories with those she held dearest.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends, who continue to honor her memory and celebrate the impact she has had on their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, John Cowart, brother, Junior and sisters, Annette and Brenda.

Grandchildren, Dean Salter (Erica), Amanda Smith (Jay), Brittney Harris, Brannon Harris

Great Grandchildren, Eben and Bentlee Salter, Alexis, and Kody Smith, Easton and Esebella Alvear, Elijah and Braxson Harris

Sisters, Virginia, Shirley and Evelyn

Brothers, Tommy and Wayne

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private services will be held at a later date.
