April Swindell

March 23, 1978 — September 27, 2023

Glennville

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Jesus (Matt 5:8), April Ginger Swindell, 45, fearfully and wonderfully made, entered the gates of Heaven September 27, 2023 to be reunited with her Creator and devoted parents Arnall and Frances Swindell, whom she missed dearly. Born with special needs, April was a blessing to anyone who knew her. She had a unique ability to connect with people of all ages and could always make you smile or laugh with her quick wit and innocent personality and humor. She never met a stranger. She would find out your birthday and remember it forever. When you saw her again, she would recall “Hey. I know you” and she would share your birth date. Once she met you, you instantly became her friend and she never walked away from someone that they weren’t left smiling or laughing.

April grew up with many challenges, but she never let them stop her from finding joy in life. She was April and she liked things her way. April loved Jesus, going to church, eating out, checking in on Facebook, crab legs, good looking boys, Dr. Phil, her family, Reese’s Cups, NASCAR racing mainly Jeff Gordon because he was cute, anything Blue Tide, country music, especially listening to Luke Bryan and her cousin Cole Swindell (not really her cousin but she told everyone he was), her Aunt Wanda’s red velvet cake, her Aunt Emily’s homemade biscuits, her Aunt Cat’s chicken casserole, playing board games, watching television, a social event of any kind, where somehow she would find herself the center of attention, Big Macs and chicken wraps, t-shirts, and cotton candy. She hated cleaning her room, shaving her legs, leaving the house when she didn’t want to, being late, wearing long sleeves, shopping, and wearing her teeth. Not in any particular order.

April was a member of Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She was previously employed at Kroger in Hinesville for 19 years. While employed she could tell you what aisle and shelf you could find any item on. She volunteered for the Long County Protective Services Auxiliary, where she specifically enjoyed working at the community haunted house.

April is preceded in death by her parents, Arnall and Frances Swindell, her grandparents Leroy (Ross) and Ruby Swindell and Ralph and Geneva Mummey.

She is survived by, her sisters, Karen Swindell of Ludowici, Kim Dasher of Millen, and Amy (Alex) Rogers of Glennville; nephew, Will Dasher of Appling; nieces, Beth Dasher and Allison Rogers of Glennville; great nieces, River Lynn and Blakely Sapp, Puerto Rican sister, Millie Robles and special friend Vera Anderson. She leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, who all loved April unconditionally and she loved greatly, her church family and her Blue Tide family.
