Bertha Mae Brown Sapp, 87, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mrs. Bertha was born September 30, 1932 to F.O “Bill” and Eva Mae Trye Brown and lived all of her life in Tattnall and Evans County. She married the love of her life, Clifford Sapp, September 30, 1950. She worked at Claxton Manufacturing as a seamstress and also worked at Evans Memorial Hospital as a dietician. Mrs. Bertha loved visiting with the patients every day. Her greatest joy came from her large family whom she loved to have over for huge family dinners and to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Sapp; son, Roland Sapp; daughter, Linda DeLoach; brothers, Johnny Brown, Billy Brown; sisters, Annie Merle Brown, Louise Davis and infant twin siblings.

Daughters, Kathy Blocker (Bobby) of Glennville, Georgia

Special Daughter-in-law, Patty D. Sapp of Claxton, Georgia
Brother, Raymond Brown (Betty), Lexington, South Carolina
Sister, Reba Vanmeter of Claxton, Georgia
Sister-in-law, Delane Brown of Glennville, Georgia
Seventeen Grandchildren, Twenty Eight Great Grandchildren, One Great-Great Grandchild, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Brewton Cemetery in Claxton. Due to COVID-19, the proper ruling of social distancing of six feet between others will be enforced.
