Betty Dasher

June 6, 1932 — August 15, 2022

Betty Odum Dasher, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2022 at the Griffin House Assisted Living in Claxton, Georgia under the care of Bethany Hospice. She was born June 6, 1932 to Troy and Annie Odum where she lived in Glennville all of her life. She was a graduate of Glennville High School. She was also a member of Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday school and morning worship.

She worked hard as a homemaker where she enjoyed making her house a home. She loved gardening as well as cooking and baking for her beloved family.  She spent many years making memories at her second home, Shellman Bluff, Georgia. There, she enjoyed fishing, time on the water, and quality time with family and friends. During her retirement years, she also enjoyed traveling with the Tattnall County excursions group to places such as Hawaii.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; husband, Clyde W. Dasher and son Michael W. Dasher.

She is survived by:

Daughter and son in law: Debra and Randy Wilson

Daughter in law: Debra Moody Dasher

Grandchildren; Toby Wilson, Brooke (Jesse) McMillen and Brett (Wendy) Thomas

Great-Grandchildren: T.J. Wilson, Waylon Thomas, Elliot Wilson, Davis McMillen, and Annie McMillen

Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Beloved caregiver: Teresa Austin

Visitation will begin Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10:00 am at Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church the funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Clay Gill officiating the service. Burial will follow at Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, please consider sending monetary donations to The Journey at the Griffin House. 107 W. Liberty Street Claxton, Ga 30417. The family is so grateful for the care and love that was shown to their mother during her stay with them.
