Betty Kemp

Betty Smiley Kemp, 90, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023. She was born July 10, 1932, to Eunice and Bud Futch. She was adopted and raised by her aunt, Rosa Mae Smiley, after her mother passed away when she was only a few months old. Betty was the oldest of four children and was a 1949 graduate of Glennville High School. After graduating she worked at Ft. Stewart for a short time and was a homemaker after marrying her husband, Earl Kemp. They were married for almost 64 years at the time of his of his passing in 2018. Betty was a dedicated wife, mother of four children and grandmother. Betty was a generous, giving person that loved her family dearly, they were everything to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Rosa Mae Smiley, husband, Earl Kemp, brothers, Theron Futch, Jimmy Smiley and Danny Smiley.

Robert Kemp of Jacksonville, Florida

Stayton Kemp, Amy Day, Austin Kemp

Seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Graveside Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon at Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery in Lyons, Georgia.
