Carol Ann Anderson

November 26, 1957 — January 25, 2026

Glennville

Carol Ann Rogers Anderson, age 68, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2026, where she was reunited with her beloved husband, Gary Anderson, leaving behind a family who adored her and a legacy of memories. She was a lifelong resident of Tattnall County.

She was born on November 26, 1957, in Claxton, Georgia, the youngest child of Lorine Busby Rogers and William Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Gary Anderson; and her siblings Patsy Deloach, Lester Rogers, D.L. Rogers, and Buddy Rogers.

She is survived by her children: Ernest and Katrina Smith of Glennville, Georgia; Misty and James Hill of Augusta, Georgia; and John and Cristen Anderson of Wakarusa, Indiana; as well as her sister, June Rogers of Hinesville, Georgia.

She was especially proud of her grandchildren: Nicholas, Macey, Ashley, Amber, Angel, Jesse, Garrett, Aaron, Emily, Willow, and Cypress.

She is also survived by many special great-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

Carol took great pride in the life she built with her husband, Gary Anderson, whom she married on January 29, 1974. Their union was one of her proudest accomplishments, second only to raising her children and grandchildren.

Carol had a magical, fairy-like spirit. She was tiny but mighty, with the heart of a lion and the gentleness of a lamb. Her brother, D.L., lovingly referred to her as “the rock,” and affectionately teased her as “the warden” — family nicknames that reflected the strength, steadiness, and dependability everyone relied upon. Caring and kind by nature, she loved fiercely and was endlessly protective of her family. Her warmth, loyalty, and quiet strength will continue to echo through every generation she leaves behind.

A starving artist at heart, Carol’s passion was painting, but she delighted in the natural world and hands-on creation, filling her life with beauty and wonder. She loved fossil hunting and rock collecting, swimming, and spending time outdoors whenever she could. A lover of the beach and all things natural, she found joy in simple pleasures, fresh air, and the quiet magic of the world around her.

Services will be held at Little Rock Baptist Church on Friday, January 30. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.

A light lunch will be served afterward at the home of her dear cousin, Cathy Futch.

She will be laid to rest at a later date at Glenville City Cemetery, beside her husband, Gary Anderson.

Care and Services are entrusted to Brannen Family Funeral Services, Glennville, Georgia. "Our Family Serving Your Family."
