Carolyn Rogers Sands, 93, peacefully passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home. She was born on April 1, 1931, in her beloved hometown of Glennville, Georgia.

Throughout her life, Carolyn wore many professional hats with grace and dedication. She worked diligently at Glenvue Nursing Home, offering comfort and care to the residents. Her nurturing spirit extended to other roles such as a sitter for the elderly, and employment at Dollar General, Peas and Corn, Santa Maria Restaurant, and in the textile industry.

Aside from her professional commitments, Carolyn cultivated numerous hobbies and interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She found solace in gardening, admiring the beauty of flowers and vegetables she nurtured. Her skilled hands crafted wonders through sewing, crocheting, and quilting projects that showcased her creativity. Carolyn's fondest memories included tending to her cherished chickens and melodies from the piano she played with love.

Carolyn was a dedicated member of Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith enriched her life and guided her actions towards kindness and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland Sands; sons, Wayne Sands, Jerry Sands; daughter, Donna Johnson; granddaughters, Melissa Kimble, Kimberly Johnson and a great granddaughter, Jaycee Sheffield.

Carolyn is survived by:

Children, Kenny Sands of Jesup, Georgia
Roger Sands (Rutchie) of Jacksonville, Floria
Rosa Lynn Bennett (Alvin) of Callahan, Florida

Twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
