Carrie Elizabeth Brannen, 86, entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Dublin Squares. Born on March 17, 1940, in Dublin, Georgia, Carrie’s life was defined by her sweetness, caring nature, and unwavering love for those around her. She was a woman who consistently put the needs of others before her own, embodying a spirit of generosity and kindness that touched many lives.
Carrie enjoyed a distinguished career at the First Citizens Bank of Glennville, where she retired as assistant Vice President. Throughout her professional journey, her dedication and commitment were evident, yet her proudest accomplishments were always centered around her beloved family.
A devoted faithful member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, Carrie was an active participant and member of the Widows Sunday School Class, finding fellowship and strength in her spiritual community. She delighted in taking trips with Excursions Unlimited, embracing new experiences and adventures. Her love extended to nurturing her home and garden, where she took great pleasure in tending to her yards and flowers, leaving behind spaces that blossomed with her care.
Above all, Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her legacy of love endures in those she cherished most. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Alvin and Mildred "Shorty" Holliday Ward and husband of 51 years, Theron Brannen.

Donna Brannen of Ashville, North Carolina
Sister, Juanita Tarpley of Dublin, Georgia
Granddaughter, Beth Gay (Coby) of Dublin, Georgia
Great Grandchildren, Garrett Horton, Madison Horton, Kennedy Gay
Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Visitation to honor and remember Carrie Elizabeth Brannen will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. Followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Carrie’s presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit of love, kindness, and dedication remains a guiding light for all who had the privilege to know her.
