Charles R. Block, 74, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. He was born February 6, 1945 in Glennville to Charles Edward Block and Matha Odom Block Roberts and lived in Glennville all of his life. He was a 1963 Graduate of Glennville High School and retired as SSG, E7, from Georgia National Guard M.A.T.E.S at Ft. Stewart after 41 years of service. He was a loving, caring father and grandfather and loved to grow his garden and share with family and friends. He was a member and deacon of Northside Baptist Church and a active member of Gideon's International Glennville Camp. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cindy Burkhalter Block and brothers-in-law, Herbert J. "Bubba" Burkhalter, Jr. and Terry Burkhalter.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Monday, July 8, 2019 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. James Bland and Rev. Justin Ray officiating. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery.
