Charles Ray Slayton, Sr.

Charles Ray Slayton Sr., age 67, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Glennville, GA. He was born in Pineville, LA on February 15, 1959, and spent the last 20 years in Glennville.

Charles served in the Army for several years before becoming a truck driver. He retired in 2005. In his retirement, he enjoyed working on vehicles and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Cassie Faircloth Slayton; brother, Merle Slayton; sister, Karla Slayton; and son, Dewey Slayton.

He is survived by:

Children, Charles Ray Slayton, Jr. of Jesup, GA; and James Michael Slayton (Jacqualyn) of Glennville, GA.

Brother, Willie Allen Slayton of Louisiana.

Sister, Margarette Clark of Louisiana.

Grandchildren, Cody Slayton (Jodi), Elijah Slayton, Malachi Slayton, Nadine Slayton, Irene Slayton, and William Moody.

Great-Grandchildren, Carleigh Slayton, Gracie Slayton, and Brynlee Slayton.

Services will be held at a later date.
