Cheryl Weitman Durrence

December 8, 1965 — December 26, 2023

Glennville

Cheryl Weitman Durrence, age 58, entered her eternal life with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. She was born on December 8, 1965, in Reidsville, Georgia to Lester Elisha and Bessie Watson Weitman. She was raised on her family farm helping her Daddy and Mama and listening to gospel music.

On October 25, 1996, she married the love of her life, James "Robbie" Durrence and they built a life together.

Cheryl dedicated many years to her career and retired from the State of Georgia.

Outside of her professional life, Cheryl found immense joy in various hobbies and interests. She held a deep love for her church family at Rogers Baptist Church in Collins, Georgia. Cheryl found solace and comfort within the walls of the church and actively participated in numerous activities that strengthened her faith and brought her closer to God.

Music was another passion that resonated deeply with Cheryl. She also enjoyed the simplicity of the outdoors and spending time at the beach. Being outside allowed her to appreciate God's beautiful creation that surrounded her.

Cheryl's devotion to others knew no bounds. She was always looking for ways to help others. Cheryl exuded kindness and generosity wherever she went.

Above all else, Cheryl cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her connection with loved ones was deep-rooted, and she continuously sought opportunities to create lasting memories with them. Cheryl's love and warmth radiated in every shared moment.

Cheryl had a joyous reunion when she entered Heaven with those who preceded her in death, her son, Joshua Futch; her parents; her brothers, Lester Weitman, Jr., Derrell Weitman and her sisters, Maryanne Mobley and Eloise Weitman.
