Danny A. Stubbs, 70, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center. He was born July 11, 1951 to Howell and Allijean DeLoach Stubbs and was a 1969 graduate of Glennville High School. Danny joined the Navy straight out of high school, serving four years at sea aboard the John F. Kennedy during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he went to work for the Department of the Navy in the area of mechanical engineering, serving as the Chief Contracting Officer for Acquisitions in Virginia, Bermuda and Maryland. Danny was then transferred to Washington, DC and promoted to Director of Acquisitions for the Naval District, retiring in 2006. He was given 38 special awards for his superior service which included two highly coveted Meritorious Civilian Service Awards during his career, which he was very proud of. Danny loved gardening, planting flowers and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by, his parents, brother, Michael “Mickey” Stubbs and a son, Brandon Stubbs.

Grandson, Braxton Schmid
Sister in-law, Patsy Stubbs of Glennville, GA
Special Nephew, William Kuykendall of Glennville, GA
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Gregg Usry officiating. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery with military honors.

Social distancing of three feet due to Covid 19 will be enforced and masks are asked to be worn on all services.
