Donna Ruth Moore

Donna Ruth Baker Moore, 83, passed away on August 12, 2026 at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation. She was born May 8, 1943 in Portland, Maine, to James and Ruth Baker. She was the oldest daughter of eight children. Donna resided with her husband of over 55 years, Durone, until his passing in 2018.

Donna, known better as Nana, was known for her devotion to her family. Throughout her life, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She delighted in being present every weekday morning to get her granddaughters ready for school. She tied countless pony tails and hair ribbons, and attended every pep rally and football game. Many memories were made down at the green house at Tippins Lake. She taught all five of her grandchildren how to drive the golf cart, and spent countless hours swinging on the front porch swing while they played. Family reunions and the yearly Gospel Sing were treasured occasions.

Donna was incredibly close with her eight siblings. She talked to at least one sister every day and loved getting to catch up with her close friends. She was also an animal lover at heart. She is preceded in death by four beloved dogs that joined her throughout her adulthood: Sadie, Sugar, Poppet, and Brandie. They were her pride and joy.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five siblings.

She is survived by her children, Jesse Moore (Tammy) of Glennville, Georgia and Darin (Christina) of Jacksonville, Florida; siblings, Gail Baker of Orlando, Florida, Ray Baker of Alabama, and Darrell Baker of Colorado; grandchildren, Ashley McCullough (James), Madison Cranford (Hunter), Jessica Moore (Tony), Jeremiah Moore (Alyssa) and Joshua Moore; and three great-grandchildren.

The immeasurable absence she leaves behind will be felt by her family and friends forever. We miss her softness, compassion, and warmth daily. We love you Nana.
