Doris Knight

Doris Rebecca Kicklighter Knight, a native of Glennville, GA and widow of Wallace Knight, died December 28, 2010 at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Richmond Hill, GA. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday with many family members and friends gathering for a party in her honor.
Doris was born November 30, 1910 in Glennville to parents, Zada and Redding Kicklighter. In 1927 Doris married Wallace Knight and together they made their living raising swine, cows, and chickens as well as growing tobacco and cotton.
Doris was a life-long member of Glennville Freewill Baptist Church having taught the juniors in Sunday School for 18 years. Her faith had a tremendous influence on many young lives. Her reliance on God and his amazing grace gave her the gifts of acceptance and contentment.
Doris loved to cook and loved seeing others enjoy her cooking. She regularly shared the bounty of her table with others.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Wallace Knight, her 8 siblings, and a family friend she considered an "adopted" son, Jimmy Rockmore.
