Earl Ralph Anderson Jr. “Andy”, 78, of Brunswick, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Andy was born April 7, 1948, in Savannah, to Earl and Loree Anderson.
Andy proudly served his country in the United States Navy from June 14, 1966, until his honorable discharge on November 2, 1968, including service in Vietnam. After his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to have a successful career, retiring from Georgia-Pacific.
Andy was known for his strong spirit, discipline, and love of competition. Exceptionally health-conscious, he was an avid triathlete who embraced an active lifestyle. Some of his happiest moments were spent riding bikes along the beach with his beloved wife, Teresa, enjoying the ocean, and making memories with his grandsons.
He married the love of his life, Teresa, on December 14, 2003, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Andy was a devoted member of the American Legion, Savannah Striders, the Lions Club, and St. Simons Community Church.
One of the greatest joys in Andy’s life was the special bond he shared with his dear friend, Keith. Together, they faithfully went to the YMCA and rarely missed their daily lunch outings—times filled with laughter, stories, and a steady companionship that meant so much to him. Their friendship was a true blessing and a cherished part of his everyday life.
A true fighter, Andy, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2001 and overcame it with strength and determination. In 2026, he faced a diagnosis of brain cancer with the same courage and resilience that defined his life.
Andy will be remembered for his competitive nature, his dedication to health and fitness, his love for his family, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures, especially time spent at the beach.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Anderson Sr. and Loree Anderson, his half-brother Artie and half-sister Pat.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Teresa and step- son, Richie Pazderski and children, Rich and Abi, his daughters Melissa Chappell and husband Paul, Michelle Hill and husband Marshall, his grandsons, Caleb and Cassell who brought him immense pride and happiness.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff for their compassionate care, which went far beyond physical needs to include emotional and spiritual support. Your kindness and presence brought comfort and peace during a difficult time, and we are deeply grateful.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation or To the Golden Isles Hospice House.
