Edmond Campbell

November 17, 1938 — December 2, 2018

Mr. Edmond "Kent" Campbell, 80, of Metter, passed away, Sunday morning, December 3, 2018 at Memorial Health University Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Campbell was born on November 17, 1938 to Mr. Edmond Lamar and Mrs. Bonnie Lee Rigdon Campbell, and lived here all his life. He was a farmer and retired from the USDA Market News Division. He served as Candler County Chairman of Commissioners from 2005 to 2008, was President of Candler County Farm Bureau for several years, and was soil conservation man of the year in 1969. He attended Upper Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church and a member of Candler County Young Farmers and Sapalo Saltwater Fishing Club at Shellman's Bluff. In his spare time he was a licensed charter boat captain, enjoyed saltwater fishing and serving as guide on off shore deep sea fishing on his boat, First Light. He also enjoyed cooking and staying at his coast house. His most important past time was spending time with his family, which he would say was the best thing since grits.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Campbell and a grandson, Michael Kay.
