Edna Mcgillis

Edna Fay McGillis, 86 passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was born July 16, 1930 in Central Lake, Michigan to Orson and Eva Mae McDowell Barber living in Michigan for many years moving to Glennville 28 years ago. She was employed in the Auto parts industry and a homemaker, loving caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred P. McGillis, Sisters, Florence Youmans, Janet Wolverton, Evelyn Moffatt, brothers, Elmer Barber, Gerald Barber, Jimmy Joe Barber and Harold Dean.
She is survived by, Children, Kathy (Wally) Hill of Reidsville, GA
John (Melissa) McGillis of Glennville, GA
Velma (Jake) Hoeksema of Glennville, GA
Debbie (Gary) Reed of Midway, GA
Fred (Jeanne) McGillis of Westminser, MD
Paul (Terri) McGillis of Midway, GA
Brother, Orson Barber Jr. and wife Beverly of Burton, MI
Sister, Dian Boatwright and husband Cliff of Bellaire, MI
Grandchildren, Penny, Walt, Doris, Vicky, John Jr., Elton, Jake Jr., Joey, Tori, Ryan, Craig, Rachel, Garrett, Kristen, Brett and Michael
Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 am, at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Wally Hill and Rev. Edward Brannen officiating. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery.
