Eleanor Woods

Eleanor Brannen Woods, 88, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2017 at East Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Willie, Georgia March 4, 1929 to the late Clarence and Doretta Strickland Brannen.

Eleanor was married to Lee Ira Woods for 62 ½ years. They traveled extensively during his military career settling in Glennville after his retirement. Eleanor was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed puzzle books, crocheting, and shopping with her friends and family. She had a sharp mind with a talent for poetry and children's nursery rhymes. She was a friend of many who have gone on before her. She was loved, treasured, and affectionately known as "Nana Nor" by her local great grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church in Glennville.

She is survived by her son, Joe (Linda) Woods of Glennville, GA and daughter, Lana (Jim) Williams of Grovetown, GA.

Grandchildren:

Jeff (Vicki) Williams of Grovetown, GA; Keith (Melanie) Williams of Bristol, VA, Angelyn (Don) Tuttle of Richmond Hill, GA, and Jennifer (Phil) Carlson of Glennville, GA.

11 great grandchildren and loving special friend, Connie Nicholson of Gainesville, GA

Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10:00 am at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 in the chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Barnard officiating. Burial will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.
