Esteen Zettler

December 28, 1926 — November 21, 2010

Esteen Brannen Zettler ,83, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Glenvue Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born in Glennville, the daughter of the late Olney Stephen Brannen and Stella Wells Brannen. She was raised on the family farm on Dry Forks road north of Glennville. Esteen married George Zettler and followed him all over the country as a Marine's wife, finally retiring in Savannah. She helped George for many years making the Vietnam Memorial in Savannah possible. Esteen wrote out the information for every brick used in the Vietnam Memorial, and helped raise money for the World War II Monument. She loved to sew, making all her own clothes and doll clothes for kids, until age wouldn't permit it anymore. She made much self-sacrifice for the good of the family and successfully raised two children. These sacrifices have never gone un noticed and will always be greatly appreciated.
She was a lifelong member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by infant children, Kathy Ann, Danny Steven, Husband, George Zettler, brothers, Thurmond and Jerrel "Jerry" Brannen
She is survived by, Daughter and son in law, Linda and Dennis Whetzel
Son and Daughter in law, Gary and Patricia Zettler
Brother, Charles Brannen
Granddaughters, Victoria Miller, Tiffany Whetzel
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday, November, 22, 2010 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
