Garland Stephens

Garland Stephens, 77 passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Evans Memorial Hospital. He was born in Adrian, GA, October 12, 1939 to Clyde and Niza Halle Stephens. He was a US Air Force Veteran and retired from the Georgia Air National Guard with 25 years of service as Senior Master Sergeant. He was employed with Georgia Power retiring after 31 years as area manager for Tattnall and Long Counties. He was a member of Glennville Lions Club, Glennville Rotary Club, Glennville Boosters Club and also served as a director of Glennville Chamber of Commerce. He was a founding member and director of South Georgia Bank and served as Co-Chairman of Glennville Industrial Authority. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church and preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Johnny Stephens
He is survived by wife of 54 years, Vivian Stephens of Glennville, GA
Daughter, Valerie (Tom) Zecchin of Savannah, GA
Sons, Gregory (Courtney) Stephens of Statesboro, GA
Darby (Partice) Stephens of Glennville, GA
Sisters, Brenda Webb of Adrian, GA
Connie Clifton of Newnan, GA
Grandchildren, Lynsey, Johnathan, Wesley, Cassidy and Emily. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.
