Iris Swindell

Iris Odom Swindell, 80, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center. She was born in Glennville, August 18, 1936 to Frank and Maude McGlashan Odom and live in Glennville all of her life. She was a graduate of Glennville High School Class of 1954 and serves as class treasure for their reunions. She was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart and was a member and served as Secretary of Glennville First Christian Church.
She is survived by, Daughter, Mary Ann Matthews of Darlington, SC
Son, James "Jimmy" Clinton Hoover of Kannapolis, NC
Grandchildren, Christy Hulsey, Courtney Renee Cook, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 26, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Bender officiating. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery.
