James Allen Weitman

James Allen Weitman, known affectionately as Robert, passed away at Pruitt Health Care in Savannah, Georgia on July 1, 2023 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on October 11, 1949, in Miami, Florida to James and Willie Mae Krause Weitman. Robert lived here most of his life and was a self-employed carpenter.  He had a deep passion for nature. He treasured the opportunity to immerse himself in the great outdoors. Spending time on the water was one of his greatest pleasures – he loved nothing more than fishing. Robert will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, generosity and jokester personality. 

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and companion, Frances Moody

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and leaves behind, a sister, Laura Turner (Terry) of San Mateo, Florida, a brother, Joseph Weitman (Nancye) of Shelby, North Carolina, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. 

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Pigott Branch Church Cemetery.
