J.C. Bland

Metter - Mr. J.C. Bland, 85, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. Mr. Bland was a native of Metter, living all of his life there and a member of Metter First Baptist Church. He owned and operated Bland's Service Station for many years. He was an avid Golfer and Georgia Bulldog fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Jake.

Mr. Bland is survived by his daughters, Beth (Randy) Nessmith and Sue (Bucky) Wagner, all of Statesboro. Brother, Gene (Frances) Bland, of Jesup. Sister, Martha Davis, of McDonough, Granddaughter, Betsy Kennedy Standridge, Grandson, Sunny Youmans, Jr. and 3 Great Granddaughters, Liza, Charlee, and Sydney.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday at the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at his home on South College Street from 5-7PM on Monday evening.
