Jerry Charles Proctor, affectionately known as “Bubba,” was born on May 24, 1970, in Claxton, Georgia to Jerry and Virginia Cowart Proctor. He was healed and met his Savior on October 16, 2025, at his residence. His life, although marked by challenges, was a testament to resilience, love, and the unyielding bond of family.

Bubba was a lifelong resident of Glennville and graduated from Reidsville High School in 1989 with a standing ovation initiated by his classmates extending into the entire stadium. He attended Tattnall Evans Training Center in Manassas, Georgia with his Aunt Kathleen Jones who was his lifelong educator and bodyguard.

With a sense of humor that was unmatched, he brought laughter and joy to those around him. He was not just a beloved brother but also a cherished friend to many. His love for life’s simple pleasures included indulging in ice cream, honey buns, orange soda, and chocolate cake and everyone that visited him was sure to bring one of his favorites. He often spent time playing bingo, where his infectious spirit could be felt by all and was always sure to win. A proud member of Island Ford Baptist Church in Buford, Georgia, and attended Mt. Zion Outreach Church in Glennville, Georgia, where his faith and love for the community flourished.

Despite his disabilities, Bubba radiated joy and light, leaving lasting impressions on the hearts of everyone he encountered. He had a profound impact on his family and friends. He often taught them life lessons instead of them teaching him. Bubba's warm spirit and gentle smile will be dearly missed yet fondly remembered by all who knew him.
