Jesse Durrence

Jesse Elton "Poboy" Durrence ,91, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation. He was born January 22, 1926 in Mendes, GA to Jesse Carl and Martha Jo Barber Durrence and lived in Glennville all of his life. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an Engineer. He was employed with Tattnall County and was self employed as a land surveyor. He was a member and elder of Glennville First Christian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Willie Mae "Tootsie" Durrence, Sisters, Edith Waters, Annette Oliver and Wynell Durrence brother, L.P. Durrence.
He is survived by: Children, James "Jimmy" Durrence (Jan) of Brunswick, GA
Dennis "Denny" Durrence (Debbie) of Glennville, GA
Larry Durrence (Jonni) of Sunbury, GA
Myra Croke (Matt) of Have de Grace, MD
Sisters, Ruby Jo Durrence
Mary Sue Dasher
Sally Dutton all of Glennville, GA
Brother, Gene Durrence (Sandra) of Claxton, GA
Ten Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm, from the chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Bender officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
