Jimmy Charles Morris, 87, entered his eternal Heavenly home, on April 4, 2026, at the Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia, Georgia. Born on January 7, 1939, in Buchanan, Georgia, Jimmy’s life was marked by humble devotion, genuine kindness, and steadfast commitment to his family, friends, and community.

Jimmy lived a life rich in service and dedication. Early in his career, he served with honor as a US Army Veteran during the Vietnam era, exemplifying patriotism and courage. Following his military service, he worked diligently as a purchasing agent for Atlanta Wholesale Drug Company and later as a mail carrier for the Postal Service.

Jimmy’s enthusiasm extended to his many interests and hobbies. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Braves, always keeping a keen eye on their latest games. He also had a fondness for the game of golf and loved traveling and going on cruises to explore new places. His social life flourished through his participation in the Lunch Bunch Partners, a cherished group of friends with whom he shared laughter and companionship.

His faith was an integral part of his life. Jimmy was a lifelong member of the Tallapoosa East Baptist Church and attended Jonesboro First Baptist Church, where he was actively involved in numerous activities. His faith community was a source of strength and comfort to him, as he was to many there.

Known for his neat appearance and well-dressed demeanor, Jimmy’s personality was defined by humility and a thoughtful spirit. He cherished his family dearly. Jimmy was a devoted husband to Marie Strickland Morris, and adored his K-9 companion, Princess. Family was central to his world—he was especially loving toward his nieces and nephews, and extended family embracing them with a fatherly affection that spoke volumes about his generous heart.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert "Rod" and Doris Purvis Strickland.

Jimmy Charles Morris leaves behind a rich legacy of warmth, humility, and steadfast devotion. His memory will remain a beacon of kindness and love to all who had the privilege to know him.
