Joetta Morris Brinson, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on May 14, 1933, in Long County, Georgia as one of thirteen children, to S.T. and Ida Belle McBride Morris, and lived in Savannah most of her life.
Joetta's professional journey as an Accounting Supervisor spanned many years, during which she made significant contributions to Nortin Lilly Shipping and Collins Plumbing. She was also a military wife while her husband served in the US Air Force. They spent their time stationed throughout the United States and various countries including England.
In addition to her distinguished career, Joetta found joy in her hobbies and interests. She was an avid traveler, creating memories that would last a lifetime, and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Savannah First Christian Church and preceded in death by her parents, husband, Samuel Brinson, sisters, Mae Rooks, Dora Ray, Sue Wheeler, Voncile Jordan, Barbara Faye Morris, brothers, T.J. Morris, Leroy Morris, E.B. Morris, Carlos Morris, Mack Morris, Ben Morris, Billy Morris and a son-in-law, Gary Issac DeLoach.
Joetta is survived by:
Daughter & Son-in-law, Gayle DeLoach Grimes and John
Grandchildren, Ryan Braxton DeLoach and Alex Dyer, Trent Issac and Elizabeth DeLoach
Great Grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Samuel, and William Deloach; Savannah and Braxton Dyer
Special Family Friend, Trina Yeomans
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Brannen Family Funeral Services. A graveside service will follow Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to: Georgia Hospice Care or a charity of one's choice.
