John Burkhalter

John Derrell Burkhalter, 79, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1939 to Harold Cecil and Mary Montez Tatum Burkhalter and has lived in this area most of his life. Derrell served 20 years in the United States Army and was a truck driver for many years. He loved to fish, watch the Atlanta Braves and help people. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosa Walker Burkhalter; sons, John Glenn Burkhalter and Adam Burkhalter and brothers, Raymond and Wayne Burkhalter.

He is survived by:
Wife, Margot Burkhalter of Glennville
Children, Linda Dansby (Stan) of Glennville
Terry Moger of Jesup
Grandchildren, Dylan and Ashley Dansby, Jodi, Kristi and Casey Batten
Eight Great Grandchildren and several other relatives also survive.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday April 18, 2019 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.
