Johnie Knight

Johnie Harold "Harry" Knight, 94, died peacefully at his residence in Glennville on Sunday, May 9, 2010. He was born March 19, 1916 in Tattnall County and was a life long resident. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and retired in 1978 from Stewarts IGA in Reidsville after 17 years. He was a member and deacon of Glennville First Christian Church for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Janie Griffin Knight; Parents, Joe & Elizabeth Sands Knight; brothers, Buford Knight and Billy Knight; sisters, Val Blount and Denta Leona Wasson.

His is survived by,
Sons & Daughters-in-law, Don & Barbara Knight of Yulee, Florida
David & Meta Knight of Glennville
Lindy & Becky Knight of Madisonville, Kentucky
Steve & Tonya Knight of Glennville
Daughters & Son-in-law, Faye Blocker of Glennville
Debbie & Larry Houston of Milledgeville
Cindy Knight of Glennville
Sister & Brother-in-law, Modena & Reggie Collins of Statesboro
Seventeen Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces & Nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the First Christian Church of Glennville with Rev.Wendell Miller and Bro. Lindy Knight officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
