Josefina Alfonso Hernandez, 98, passed away on January 22, 2025, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient in Statesboro, Georgia. Born Cayey, Puerto Rico, to Jose and Josefa Mendez Alfonso and lived in Orlando, Florida for 20 years before moving to Glennville for the next 20 years of her life.
Josefina dedicated her life to creating a loving and nurturing home for her family. Her passion for music, dancing, and soap operas brought light and laughter into her household, reflecting her vibrant spirit. As a homemaker, she cultivated an environment filled with love, support, and cherished memories, leaving a lasting legacy for those who knew her.
Josefina was a member of Iglesa Vida Nueva and is preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Hernandez.
She is survived by:

Jose Hernandez (Yolanda) of Orlando, Florida
Rosa Hernandez of Puerto Rico
Grandchildren, Robert Rodriguez (Kelley), Michael Rodriguez (Rachael), Jose Antonio Hernandez (Aimee), William Hernandez (Karem), Rosimar Rovira (Matthew), Lysie Rovira (Rodolfo), Zorimar Rovira
Eleven Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
