Josh Odom

June 11, 1986 — January 7, 2023

Josh D. Odom, 36, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at his residence.

Josh was one-of-a-kind and lived life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and never met a stranger. Josh was a vivid storyteller and had a passion for making people laugh. He will be remembered by most for his honest reviews on TikTok, detailed Bachelor/Bachelorette commentary, the rumble and roar of his Sugarwagon, and the random sounds of firecrackers and canons.

Those closest to Josh, will remember him for his unending wit and wisdom, keen imagination and mischief, unwavering support in all situations (the good, the bad, and the ugly), and for his servant’s heart. Josh loved and loved big. He didn’t pay attention to social norms or standards and didn’t want attention or recognition for his goodness.

Josh was a hard worker and loved his job. He was a dispatcher at Canoochee EMC. Over the past 12 years he enjoyed guiding CEMC employees through storms, outages and other issues. The long running joke was that if there was going to be a storm, it was going to happen during Josh’s shift.

Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Waters and paternal grandparents, Grady and Jean Odom. He is survived by his parents, Joe & Patti Odom; his sisters: Lainey (Andrew) King of Baxley, and Laura (Justin) Sims of Valdosta; special nieces and nephews: Emily Ann & Aubrey Jean Sims, and Grady and Ridge King; maternal grandfather, Lethridge Waters. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends also survive.
