It is with a deep sense of loss yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Joyce A. Durrence, on January 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Joyce's earthly journey came to a close in the surroundings of Appling Healthcare's The Pavilion, where she passed under the compassionate care of Hospice of South Georgia. While her physical presence may be gone, we take peace in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior.

Born on February 8, 1943, in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia, Joyce embraced life with fervor, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Joyce will be remembered as a devoted homemaker, whose spunky and stylish personality shone brightly throughout her everyday life. Her feisty spirit was her signature, bringing laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to know her. It was through her family that she derived her proudest accomplishments, nurturing and preparing the next generation with a fierce love and unyielding devotion.

During her life, she found solace and delight in the simple yet profound experiences that filled her days. Whether walking along beaches or tending to her exquisite collection of hybrid daylilies, Joyce found beauty in the world around her. She delighted in the company of her cherished dog, Marley, who brought companionship and joy into her life. Joyce's passion for shopping at Belk showcased her keen sense of style, while her friendships reflected her generous spirit.
