Joyce Nutter

Joyce Evelyn Price Nutter, 84 of Metter passed away at Augusta University Medical Center on Friday, January 15, 2021. Mrs. Nutter was born on March 9, 1936 to Leo and Lore Price in Treutlen County. Living in the Metter area since 1976, she worked as a seamstress for many years, retiring from Augusta Sportswear. She made a distinct impression on everyone who met her, and was often described as “spunky,” and known by many friends as “Foxy Lady,” her CB radio handle. She was also known for her love for and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William “Fisherman Bill” Azy Nutter, Jr., son Reggie Alton Walker, and daughter Leona Walker. Five brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Great Grandchildren:  Damien Walker, Jade Walker, Trevor Walker

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Cemetery in Metter, GA with Rev. Jerald Dorr officiating. The family will receive friends at graveside one hour prior to the service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all CDC social-distancing guidelines of six feet between others will be encouraged. Masks are not required but recommended.
