Judy Maness Rainey

With profound love and reverence, we announce the passing of Judy Maness Rainey, who entered her heavenly home on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia, Georgia at the age of 84. Born on September 25, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan to Hershel and Lucille Fullbright Maness, Judy’s journey began in Alamo, Tennessee and was marked by extraordinary devotion, steadfast resilience, and the deep warmth she shared with all who knew her.

A woman defined by her boundless generosity and tireless spirit, Judy’s life was a rich tapestry woven with countless acts of kindness and unwavering commitment to those she loved. As the matriarch and backbone of her family, she bestowed upon each member a guiding strength and gentle wisdom, nurturing generations with her singular presence and loving touch.

She was employed as a seamstress for Kellwood Industries for many years before becoming disabled. Judy was a dedicated homemaker whose influence radiated far beyond her household. Her daily labors were acts of devotion, anchored by a sincere, servant-hearted approach that left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.

Beyond her industrious nature, Judy delighted in simple joys. Her love for puzzles reflected a keen appreciation for life’s gentle challenges. An avid reader—especially of her beloved Bible—she drew inspiration and comfort from the sacred texts, embodying their teachings in her interactions and offering spiritual solace to family and friends alike.

Family remained her deepest treasure. Judy’s name became synonymous with caregiving; she was known and cherished for her nurturing spirit and her extraordinary ability to provide comfort in times of need. "Aunt Juby" was everyone's favorite. Her cooking, heralded by many as a memory in itself, was more than sustenance—it was an expression of love, unity, and the quiet joy of coming together. 

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charlie Joe Rainey, brothers, Jimmy Maness, Clifton Maness and sister, Joyce Murray.

She is survived by: daughters, Rita Horn (Tom), Rhonda Rainey all of Glennville, Georgia; brothers, Jerry Maness and Dwight Maness (Pam) of Illinois; grandchildren, Matthew Horn (Joy), Zachary Horn (Maddy); great grandchildren, Adi, Emma, Kennedy, Riley, Reese and Rhett; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. 

Services will be held at Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo, Tennessee. A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Monday, July 27, 2026, at Ronk Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, July 28, 2026, at Ronk Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak View Memorial Park in Alamo, TN. Services will be conducted by Ronk Funeral Home, 106 S Bells St, Alamo, TN 38001.
