Larry D. Bacon, 68, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Ogeechee Area Hospice In-Patient Center in Statesboro. He was a native of Tattnall County living in Glennville all of his life. He was an Assistant Shop Supervisor with the Georgia National Guard and retired as a Lt. Col. after 36 years of service. He was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvis Waite Bacon and Emily Dubberly Bacon; and a brother, Tony Bacon.

Wife of 46 years:Brenda Bacon of Glennville
Children:Larry Bacon, Jr. of Glennville
LeAnne Bacon Purvis (Bernard) of Glennville
Sister-in-Law:Charlotte Bacon
Grandchildren:Amy Bacon, Chase Purvis, Jess Purvis
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
