Leslie Groover

Leslie Groover, 76, passed away peacefully at his residence under the care of Regency Hospice on December 18, 2025, after an extended illness. He was born on December 10, 1949, in Claxton, Georgia to Cecil and Ernestine Groover and lived here all of his life.

He was dedicated to serving his country serving as a Chief Warrant Officer CW5 in the Georgia Army National Guard for an honorable 42 years.

Leslie was known for being a simple man with a heart full of kindness. He found immense joy in the pleasures of life, particularly in his love for cooking and baking. His culinary skills were often highlighted by his enjoyment of cooking shows, which he would watch with great enthusiasm. Leslie was also an avid train collector and had a keen interest in collecting antiques.

When he wasn't spending time cultivating his hobbies, Leslie cherished moments with his family. He took great pride in spoiling his grandchildren and created many fond memories with them. The beach was a special place for him, where he could relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Leslie is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Danny Groover and sister, Linda Groover Griffin.

Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services with Rev. Roger Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
