Lisa Driggers Eason, 43, earned her eternal wings on Sunday morning, September 28, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. Lisa grew up in the Gooseneck community but resided in Claxton for the last 17 years. Lisa spent her last, peaceful days at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. She fought a long, hard battle with the horrible disease diffused systemic Scleroderma for the last 25 years.
Lisa was born on July 12, 1971 to Jimmy and Katha Waters Driggers. Lisa grew up with two sisters, Lori Threatt and Ellen Kingery. On March 29, 1997 Lisa married her high-school sweetheart, Scott Eason. They have one, very smart 10 year old son, Joseph Scott Eason. Lisa was a life-time learner. She graduated from Claxton High School in 1989. She earned her bachelors degree in education from Georgia Southern University. She went on to earn a Masters and Doctorate degree from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida thus becoming Dr. Lisa D. Eason. She taught high school, served as the school guidance counselor, and was an administrator at Tattnall County High School, Bradwell Institute, and Liberty Career Academy. Lisa finished her 20 year career in education at her alma mater, Claxton High School as an assistant principal. Lisas favorite pass time was being with family and friends. She loved attending country music concerts, George Straight, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean were her all time favorites. Lisa was a die -hard Georgia Bulldog fan and loved Coach Richt and the Dawgs. In the last year she became a die-hard Braves fan as she watched many games with her daddy while laying on her parents couch. Her favorite place on earth was the beach especially St. Simons Island where she and her extended family vacationed for the last several summers. Lisa was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church where she grew up and never moved her membership. She, Scott and Joseph attended Easons Chapel United Methodist Church in Claxton when she was able to go. Lisa and Scott attended the Walk to Emmaus in September 2011. They loved Tattnall Campground and attended Camp Meeting each summer. As her disease progressed and she was able to do less and less her favorite pass time was riding the golf cart. Whether at her parents house in Gooseneck, the Kingerys in Claxton or her house in the Undine community, getting out riding the golf cart was a true blessing to her each day.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Scott Eason, and one son, Joseph Eason, 10. She is also survived by her parents Jimmy and Katha Waters Driggers of Glennville and her mother in law Gloria Eason of Claxton. She has two sisters, Lori Threatt of Midway and Ellen (Heath) Kingery of Claxton. Scotts siblings are Cheryl (Ellis) Conley and Bo (Kay) Eason all from Claxton. His other brother, Joel Eason, resides in Texas. She had a daily relationship with "The Kingerys" - Elizabeth, Olivia, Jacob and Clay. Several other nieces and nephews also survive. Lisa was proud to be a part of a large extended family and is survived by 37 first cousins. She also had many wonderful aunts and uncles who were part of her awesome support group over the years. Lisa was also blessed to be a part of several faculty and staff groups at various school systems which she considered family. The many students she taught and worked with were also a blessing to her throughout the years.

Lisa can be remembered by a few of her favorite quotes that gave her the strength to get through the tough days. "God doesnt give us what we can handle; God helps us handle what we are given." "God didnt promise days without PAIN, laughter without SORROW, nor sun without RAIN. But He did promise STRENGTH for the day, COMFORT for the tears, and LIGHT for the way." "Take your bad days one at a time, and never take your good ones for granted." One of her favorite Bible verses was Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
LISA = LOVING, INSPIRING, STRONG and AMAZING
