Lloyd Jones, a man of unwavering faith and boundless love, entered into the presence of the Lord at the age of 78, on September 7th, 2025. He was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife of 48 years, Corene, and a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all.
Lloyd's life was a testament to his deep trust in God, which carried him through every season, including his courageous 29-year battle with cancer. Despite the challenges, he remained an eternal optimist, always answering the question "How are you?" with his trademark response, "I'm just peachy." His positive outlook, warm hugs, and infectious joy left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A faithful member of Glennville Methodist Church, Lloyd found great joy in serving his church community and building relationships with his church family. Whether it was working in the yard, lending a helping hand as a handyman, or offering a word of encouragement, Lloyd’s presence brought light and warmth to everyone around him.
Lloyd was also deeply patriotic and dedicated to his country. He served in the United States Navy for 25 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. His love for his country and sense of duty were evident in everything he did.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Jesse Jones; his baby brother, Darrell; his son, Jonathan; and his granddaughter, Clarissa Jolie. He is survived by his beloved wife, Corene; his daughters, Diana, Lyn, and Jennie; his sister, Jessie; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Glennville Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon at Glennville Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. David Donnan officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors rendered by the United States Navy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society or Glennville Methodist Church.
Lloyd’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he will be dearly missed, his spirit will forever be with us, reminding us of the power of faith, family, and the joy of life.
