Marina Reynolds, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, March 12, 2026, after a courageous 22-year battle with leukemia.
Marina was born in Waycross on November 15, 1969. She grew up in the Dixie Union community, a place she was extremely proud of. The stories she told from growing up there could have easily made for a great movie. In 2002, she moved to Glennville, where she spent the remainder of her life and proudly called home.
Marina graduated from Ware County High School in 1988. In 1996, she earned her cosmetology license from Okefenokee Technical College. From that point on, she became the family barber and hairstylist, always ready to fix a haircut or style for anyone who needed it. She attended Haywood Baptist Church.
Marina was a woman of many talents and had a strong work ethic. For many years, she worked as a paraprofessional at Reidsville Elementary School, where she loved working with children and making a difference in their lives. She later worked as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid in Glennville before becoming a teller at South Georgia Bank. In 2023, she stepped away from the bank due to medical reasons, which allowed her to focus on what she considered to be her most treasured role; being a Mimi.
She loved her children fiercely and stood by them through every season of life with strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. That same love only grew when she became a Mimi, and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life. Each of them has their own little nickname and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was a member of the Georgia Line Dancers, where she enjoyed dancing and even spent time appearing on the television show Club Dance. Marina also loved writing and sharing on Facebook, posting her favorite bible verses, offering advice, and proudly sharing pictures of her grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Foster and Dorothy Jordan; her mother, Fosteen Steverson; her father Clifford Steverson; and her sister, Bonita Bond.
Marina is survived by her children: Kailey Clark (John) of Portal, Georgia, Jordan Stanfield (Dustin) of Reidsville, Georgia and Dawson Reynolds (Racheal) of Glennville, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Case Stanfield, Wyatt Kicklighter, Conner Stanfield, Kash Kicklighter and Ava Clark.
She is also survived by her brother, Shad Steverson of Waycross, Georgia, with whom she shared a very close and special bond. The two remained incredibly close throughout their lives.
Marina is further survived by several nieces, nephews, numerous friends and extended family members.
There is no doubt that Marina was deeply loved and made a lasting impact on everyone she came in contact with. She will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family. While our hearts are broken and we cannot imagine life without her, we find comfort in knowing that when she reached Heaven she was made completely whole again. She is now rejoicing and watching over the family she loved so deeply.
Her love, strength and memories she created will live on through her children, grandchildren and all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Marina.
