Mark Darrell DeForest, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at Amber Grove at Savannah Seasons. He was born on May 23, 1958, in California and lived a life full of love and commitment to his family and country.

Mark dedicated his career to Gulfstream Aerospace, where he contributed his skills and knowledge until his retirement. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of duty and service that defined his character. In addition to his family life, Mark found great pleasure in fishing.

He was not only known for his professional accomplishments but also for his warm and loving personality. As a husband to Alice DeForest, he created a partnership built on respect and affection. His love extended to his children, Erin DeForest, Mark DeForest, and Krista DeForest, as well as his stepchildren, Natalie, John, and Joey. Mark treasured his role as a grandfather to numerous grandchildren, who will surely carry forward the legacy of joy and togetherness that he fostered. He is also survived by his siblings, Doug DeForest and Linda Topper, along with several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
