Marvin Dixon

July 3, 1934 — January 16, 2021

Mr. Marvin Tucker Dixon, 86 of Cobbtown passed away at his residence under the care of Community Hospice on Saturday, January 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Dixon was born on July 3, 1934 to Ernest and Minnie Lee Dixon and lived in this area all his life. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War, then worked for Green Grocery and the City of Cobbtown for many years. He attended Cobbtown Baptist Church, and he was honored by being named as Cobbtown’s Citizen of the Year in 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his son Tucker Talmadge Dixon on January 7, 2021.

He is survived by:

Son:                 Brian Carnell Dixon (Kathy) of Garfield

Brother:           Billy Dixon (Pat) of North Carolina

Two grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers: Danny Ray Collins, Dewayne Collins, Larry Dean Collins, Larry Joe Collins, Jeff Dixon, Keith Harvey

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown, GA with Rev. Paul Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at graveside a half-hour before the service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all CDC social-distancing guidelines of six feet between others will be encouraged. Masks are not required but recommended.

The family requests that remembrances be made to Community Hospice, P.O. Box 2277, Vidalia, GA 30475.

Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Home of Metter, GA is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Marvin Tucker Dixon.
