Mary L. Sommers Brannen, 79, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Candler Hospital after a long illness. The Screven county native moved to Savannah at an early age and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Louise Sommers; son, Dennis Brannen; brother, Eugene Sommers.
Survivors include:
Husband of 61 years:Charles J. Brannen of Savannah
Daughter:Nancy & James Champion of Niwot, Colorado
Son:Ronnie & Linda Brannen of Middletown, Delaware
Grandchildren:William Champion of Denver, Colorado and Daniel Champion of Tucson, Arizona
Jessica Brannen and Monica Brannen of Middletown, Delaware
Sisters:Joan & Lee Nelson of Taylors, South Carolina
Myrtice & Melvin Johnson of Savannah
Brothers:Jackie & Wynelle Sommers of Richmond Hill
Jimmy & Pam Sommers of Richmond Hill
Richard & Jane Sommers of Savannah
Many nieces and nephews also survive.
