MaryAnn Swindell Matthews

MaryAnn Swindell Matthews, 71 passed away on January 15, 2026, at Evans Memorial Hospital, under the compassionate care of Georgia Hospice Care. She was born on December 30, 1954, in Glennville, GA and was a Glennville High School class of 1973 graduate. MaryAnn pursued a life marked by ambition, warmth, and a unique feisty spirit that endeared her to many.

As a successful entrepreneur, MaryAnn owned multiple businesses throughout her career, demonstrating her remarkable passion and talent for entrepreneurship. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her community. She loved to cook for her church community and was a cherished member of Glennville First Christian Church, where her contributions extended far beyond the kitchen. Recognized with accolades for excellence in all her endeavors, MaryAnn's energy and drive inspired those around her.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her birth parents Gene Austin and Mary Agnes Odom Rogers, parents Charles and Iris Odom Swindell, and a brother Anthony "Tony" Rogers. 

She is survived by:

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Glennville First Christian Church.
