Marynell Barnard

Marynell Kennedy Barnard, 89, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was born September 29, 1933, in Glennville, Georgia to Leolin “Pet” and Macie Johnson Kennedy and lived here all of her life. Marynell worked in the textile factory for many years as a seamstress. She was a homemaker, loved to cook and was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother and was a member of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church. Marynell was preceded in death by her father, Leolin “Pet” Kennedy, mother, Macie Kennedy Smith, brothers, Don Kennedy, and  Vondese Kennedy, husband, Carnell Barnard, daughters, Barbara Toler, Maradean Kersey, sister, Leo Durrence and grandson, Stacy Holland.

She is survived by:

Johnny Barnard (Darlene) of Reidsville, Georgia

Siblings, Larry Kennedy (Pat) of Glennville, Georgia
Dewayne Kennedy (Audrey) of Glennville, Georgia
Janet Anderson of Glennville, Georgia
Betty Sue Durrence of Augusta, Georgia

Eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
