Melvin M. Beasley

Metter- Mr. Melvin M. Beasley, 69 of Metter died Tuesday evening at his home, under the care of his family and Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was a retired electrician having worked for the Sack Company for many years. He was a member of Metter Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and old cars and trucks. He is preceded in death by his father Marshall Beasley.

He is survived by his wife Donna Lastinger Beasley of Metter; sons Kelvin Beasley of Metter and Rusty (Shae) Beasley of Statesboro; daughters Sissy (David) Salter, and Michelle (Lee) Dickerson all of Metter. He is also survived by his mother Marjorie Beasley of Metter; brother Marvin (Gail) Beasley of Vidalia. Five grandsons, 2 step-granddaughters and 1 great-grandson also survive.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016 6:00pm-8:00pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 5, 2016 10:00am at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel, with Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating.

Burial will follow at the Lake Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Lee Dickerson, Rodney Lastinger, Clint Porter, Landon Salter, Lawson Salter, Logan Salter.

Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
