Michael Eugene Whitlow, affectionately known as "Mike" or "Pockets," passed away on June 27, 2025, at the Pavilion at Appling Health Care leaving behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and heartfelt connections. He was born on December 7, 1953, in Glennville, Georgia to XL and Nell Curry Whitlow and lived here all of his life.
A proud graduate of Glennville High School, Class of 1973, Mike embodied the essence of joy and humor throughout his life. He was known for his adventurous spirit, often spending time outdoors engaging in his passions for hunting and fishing. His happiest moments were spent riding around in his truck, visiting friends, and enjoying the beauty of nature.
Mike dedicated 30 years to his family's business, Whitlow Construction. His expertise and skills further led him to work as a welder and pipe fitter at Jacksonville Shipyard, where he made significant contributions to the industry. He concluded his working career in maintenance at Winn Army Hospital on Fort Stewart, exemplifying his strong work ethic and commitment to service.
Friends and family will remember him not only for his devotion to them but also for his infectious sense of humor and love for life. Mike had an ability to draw others in, creating bonds that will be treasured forever.
Mike was a member of Hopewell Church and is preceded in death by, his parents and a brother, Bob Whitlow.

Special Friends, Darwin Foskey and the area road monkeys
Several cousins and host of friends also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 30, 2025 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
