Myra Beasley

Metter/Springfield- Myra Mae Kennedy Beasley 99 widow of Tommie Beasley passed away at her home in Springfield with her daughter Hazel Tuesday August, 10, 2010.

She was a native of Tattnall County and later lived in Candler and Effingham Counties. She was born January 7, 1911 to Leander Matthew and Mattie Irene Barrow Kennedy of Tattnall County. Mrs. Beasley was a dedicated member of Excelsior Baptist Church for over 60 years, a member of WMU, Adult Sunday School Class, the Lord's Supper Committee, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. Mrs. Beasley also enjoyed her time in the Golden Agers of Excelsior Church and the Metter Keen Agers. She retired from Metter Manufacturing Company and also did private sitting for patients at Candler County hospital for many years. She moved to Springfield in 1998 where she attended the First Baptist Church of Springfield and was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Beasley, parents, Leander Matthew and Irene Barrow Kennedy, Sister, Grace Monroe, and Edna Snooks, Brother, Olin Kennedy, Daughter, Betty Beasley Roberson, Grandson, David Lovins and Great Grandson, Daniel Bruner.

Survivors; Daughter's Mildred B. (James) Lovins of Swainsboro, Hazel B. (Herbert)Bruner of Springfield, Son, Louis Beasley of Metter, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren, Sister in Law, Betty Jean Beasley of Metter and Eunice Beasley of Tifton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 Friday Augusta 13, 2010 in the chapel with burial in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6-8 also in the chapel.

Remembrances may be given to the charity of your choice.
