Odessia Odom Powell, 87, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Glenvue Health & Rehab. She was born November 17, 1931 to LeRoy and Mildred Dasher Odom and lived in this area most of her life. Odessia was the manager of the Altama Shoe Factory in Darien for over 40 years and a caretaker at the Bruner House Personal Care Home for many years. She loved flowers, gardening and caring for her pets and animals. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Powell; sons, Linton C. Powell and James A. "Pat" Morris and a sister, Izola Johnson, a brothers, Roscoe Odum, Thomas Odom, Eldon Odom.
She is survived by:

Sisters, Janet Strickland of Glennville, GA
Monte Smith of Jesup, GA
Sister-in-law, Jackie Odum of Glennville, GA
Grandchildren, Trina Nall (Brian), Bryan Morris (Amy), Andy Morris,
Christy Harris (Joey), Debbie Whitley (Michael), Chris Powell,
Patrick Powell (Dian), Sunny Powell (Monty)
Eleven Great Grandchildren, One Great-Great Grandchild, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
