Raymond Boyette Sr

Master Sergeant (Retired) Raymond Dillon Boyette, 74, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his home in Appling, Georgia under the care of his family and St. Joseph Hospice. He was born on November 24, 1941 in Glennville, Georgia to Ruel Dillon and Mamie Boyette.
Raymond grew up in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Groves High School in Savannah in 1960. After high school he joined the United States Army in 1961 and was assigned to Fort Jackson, SC. He served in the U.S. Army for 25 years until retirement in 1985. After graduating from training, he was assigned to the Signal Corps and deployed to Munich, Germany. He was a veteran of the Korean War and of the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
MSG Boyette was a brave and loyal soldier as well as a patient and loving husband and father. He married Patricia Patten in June 1962. They were happily married for 54 years. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Boyette
Raymond is survived by his wife, Patti Boyette of Appling, GA, daughters Lea Boyette and Regina Jenkins (John) both of Evans, GA; his son, Ray Jr. (Shannon) of Grovetown, GA.
Grandchildren - Andrew, Ashley, Matthew, Katelyn, Christian, Lacey and Dillon and a great grandchild, Kiley Ray.

Siblings - Vonette Sampey of Savannah, GA; Betty Presnell of Midway, GA; Robert Boyette of Aurora, CO; Faye Lea of Dauphin Island, AL; Ronnie Boyette of Savanah, GA and Diane Varner of Shreveport, LA.
Several nieces and nephews and other relative also survive.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 22, 2016 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville. Burial will Full Military Honors will follow at 3:00 pm, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
